Borussia Dortmund's teenage sensation, Christian Pulisic, has been identified as a top target by Liverpool owners Fenway Sports Group, according toreportsin Germany.

The 18-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to Anfield over the last few months and it is understood that Liverpool failed to land the American in last summer's transfer window.

Despite Dortmund insisting that Pulisic will not be leaving the club in the coming years, the winger's situation continues to be monitored by Liverpool as their American owners are eager to bring their fellow compatriot to Merseyside.

But whilst magazine SportsBlid (viaSport Witness)suggest that the Reds are ready to make a€30m bid for Pulisic, the German media outletbelieves that the deal will be complicated due to a secret agreement existingbetween Jurgen Klopp and his former club.

The Liverpool boss spent seven seasons in charge at theWestfalenstadion and the charismaticGerman wasa popular figure amongst both fans and club officials. Reports suggest that when Klopp eventuallyleft Dortmund in 2015, he agreed to take part in a secret pact, which meant that he would not pursue any of the club's players when managing other teams.

Although Klopp may be reluctant to break the agreement that he made with CEOHans Joachim Watzke, Fenway Sports Group could push the deal through regardless, as they believe that signing an American player will benefit the team off the field, just as much as it will on it.

Both John Henry and Tom Werner are keen to seeLiverpool expand their commercial dealings in their home country and they seePulisic as the perfect signing, to help bolster the club's financial interests in the United States.

It remains to be seen whether the Reds will make a move for the Dortmund winger in the near future, but Pulisic's club are understood to be "calm" on current speculationregarding anoffer for their much sought-afterteenager.
