Kumasi Asante Kotoko defender Henry Ohene Brenya has retired from football after 15 years of active career in the sport.

The player hanged his boots at age 32 and is likely to venture into Coaching following his leadership role at the club.

Ohene Brenya joined Kotoko in 2008 from Division one side Berekum Arsenal and he won three premier League titles and two FA Cups.

He confirmed his retirement on local radio station Atinka FM.

“Yes, it is true I have retired from the game, I have been in the game for some time now, about 15 years and I think I have to leave to allow the young ones get the chance as well,” he told Atinka FM

The defender has previously featured for Kade Hotspurs and Tano Bofoakwa United.
