Black Stars striker Majeed Abdul Waris is set to mentor compatriot Alhassan Wakaso at club side Lorient in the French Ligue one.

The 24-year-old midfielder who is the younger brother of Mubarak Wakaso, signed a bumper deal on Tuesday with the Ligue one side to join Abdul Majeed Waris.

Having gained attention following a blistering season with Rio Ave and Panathinaikos, Alhassan has been courted by several clubs in Europe but Lorient who are fighting for their lives in the French league pulled the strings to have him.

Alhassan played in 28 games last season and was rated the best player for Rio Ave last season and is keen to impress with Lorient with the mentor-ship of fellow Ghanaian Waris who has been with the club since the summer.
