It is make or break for us in our game against Medeama: Hans Van der Pluijm

Young Africans coach Hans Van der Pluijm has stated that they must do everything possible to beat Medema SC in their CAF Confederation Cup group return fixture at the Essipong Stadium. Young Africans are in Ghana with little hopes of a continued stay in the competition.

They have managed just a point from three games, which incidentally was against Medeama, a 1-1 draw in the Day 3 fixture in Dar es Salaam two weeks ago.

Coach Van der Pluijm who once managed Medeama SC insists his side will play with no pressure but will be cautious in their bid to secure all three points away from home to boost their chances.

“When we play away, we play with little pressure; it is different from home games where we play under intensive pressure and sometimes fail to deliver to our standards.

“We had wished to win the last two games to put us in a good chance to qualify but we could not do it. I cannot say our hopes have vanished. No! We still have chance. We have to win in Ghana to revive our hopes,” said the Dutchman.

“In North and West Africa, things are very different compared to East Africa. There are a couple of academies there and they raise real talents. It is very tough to play against them.

“The good thing with Medeama is that, they play open football. It is good to play against such an opponent. If we utilize our chances and score goals, we can win it in Ghana,” said Van der Pliujm.
