Man City watch Liverpool target Mahmoud Dahoud

Manchester City sent scouts to watch Mahmoud Dahoud in action for Borussia Mönchengladbach on Sunday.

As City drew 1-1 with Liverpool at the Etihad Stadium, representatives were at Borussia Park to watch the Syrian-born German midfielder take on Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich, according to the Daily Mirror.

Liverpool have long been linked with the 21-year-old but it appears as though City are now significantly interested.

Dahoud, who is also being tracked by Borussia Dortmund, is out of contract in the summer of 2018 which suggests the Fohlenelf may be forced to sell him for a tidy profit at the end of the season.

City boss Pep Guardiola was impressed by Dahoud's performances for Gladbach when he coached Bayern in Germany last season.

For the record, the Bavarian side won 1-0 thanks to Thomas Muller's second league goal of the campaign.
