Manchester derby now holds extra significance - Neville

Former Manchester United captain Gary Neville expects this week's Manchester derby to hold even more significance than usual.

United beat Burnley 2-0 at Turf Moor on Sunday to go within a point of fourth-placed City ahead of Thursday's clash at the Etihad Stadium.

Neville was involved in a number of high-octane derbies during his playing career and believes this edition will be no different with a Champions League spot up for grabs.

"The Manchester derby now takes on incredible significance," he said on the Gary Neville Podcast.

"If United are to win, they could go above City. This month is absolutely critical. It's a huge test on Thursday.

"City are a really good side and can pick you apart. It will be interesting to see what Jose does.

"He usually has a tactic going into a big game and it will be interesting to see how he adapts and how he changes it."
