MATCH REPORT: Ashgold 0 Bechem 0 - Champions dip into the relegation zone

Published on: 08 May 2016

Defending champions, Ashanti Gold SC dipped into the relegation zone with an uninspiring 0-0 against Bechem United at the Len Clay stadium on Sunday.

The hosts failed to make their dominance of possession count as they struggled to breach their opponents in a boring game.

Ashgold came close to scoring in the 32nd minute but Isaac Amoah squandered the opportunity with just the goalkeeper to beat.

Bechem United came to life in the second half but Abednego Tetteh squandered their best chance of scoring as he attempted an audacious lofted finish with only the goalkeeper to beat.

Bechem goalie Ernest Adu thwarted Ashgold on numerous occassions with the highlight being a spectacular save to deny Fuseini Nuhu the opener and in the process earned his team their first away point of the season.

The Miners are now placed 14th on the 16 team league log, a situation which will heap pressure on embattled trainer, Bashir Hayford
