Published on: 12 February 2017

A quick-fire brace from Yakubu Mohammed in the second half handed Kumasi Asante Kotoko all three points in a 2-1 win over Liberty Professionals on Sunday in the Ghana Premier Legue. A 35th minute strike by Liberty striker, Benjamin Eshun silenced the home crowd at the Baba Yara stadium forcing Kotoko boss Zdravko Lugarosic into a tactical switch.

The switch from 4-4-2 to 3-5-2 coupled with enforced substitutions after injuries to Obed Owusu and Amos Frimpong saw Kotoko dominates possession till the end of the first half.

After the break, the newly-signed attacker Mohammed fired home in the 57th minute from the penalty spot.

The former Ashgold striker completed the comeback victory four minutes later when he scored in the 61st minute.

Liberty coach Ignatius Osei Fosu was unable to turn the tide despite his side creating numerous chances.
