Dauda Mohammed completed a hat-trick in 47 minutes to hand Kumasi Asante Kotoko a 4-2 win over Techiman city at the Baba Yara Stadium.

The result ensures that Kotoko will finish the first round of the season in third place with 26 points, two points adrift leaders All Stars and a place above bitter rivals Hearts of Oak.

Dauda's three goal blitz against Techiman City who were without their coach Yusif Abubakar which sent his season-tally to eight goals.

He scored his first from the penalty-spot in the 18th minute after former Kotoko striker, Stephen Manu was penalised for handling the ball in the box.

He completed his brace two minutes later, capitalising on an error by the visitors goalkeeper Richmond Ayi to hand Kotoko a commanding first half lead.

The Black Satellites striker then showed dazzling footwork to evade his markers before registering his first hat trick of the season.

Techiman then fought back and grabbed a consolation through Baba Mahama who headed in a brilliant cross.

But Kotoko restored their three goal lead when Edwin Tuffour Frimpong powered in a towering header.

The sixth and final goal of the game was scored by Emmanuel Agyapong of Techiman City.
