Mauro Icardi Appears to Rule Out Chance of a Move to Arsenal Despite Apparent Agent Talks

Published on: 21 July 2016

Inter Milan striker Mauro Icardi appears to have ruled out the idea of joining Arsenal this summer, or indeed any club, despite recent reports suggesting that the player's agent and wife, Wanda Nara, had held successful talks with the Gunners in London.

"I'm here, and I'm happy - I say that all the time. I have a contract with Inter until 2019 and they are my team. It's only the club that can speak about everything else," Icardi told Corriere dello Sport.

Nara tweeted an unrelated message that confirmed her presence in London on Wednesday morning, against a backdrop ofclaims that she had travelled to discuss her husband's future.

The former wife of Barcelona striker Maxi Lopez has often been vocal about Icardi at Inter, commenting on his relatively low wages.

Yet despite the speculation, the player himself seems focused only on staying where he is and playing well for the Nerazzurri . Icardi additionally tweeted a message that appeared to be a pledge of allegiance to Inter.

"My entire family's objective is to stay in Milan. I never concealed the fact that I'm happy in this city, as are Wanda and the children," he further explained.

"Milan is our home, and that's why she's in talks with [Inter]. We're trying to find a solution. For now, Wanda deserves an A+ as an agent. She's working very well.

"I'm not interested in rumours and I don't give much weight to what is said or written in the media. What I want is known by everyone. I'm happy here, and this is where I want to stay."
