Maxwell Konadu hails Wa All Stars for winning Premier League

Black Stars assistant coach Maxwell Konadu has lauded Wa All Stars for emerging as champions of this season’s Ghana Premier League.

The Wa based side after 30 match days emerged as winners for the first time in their history.

Konadu who managed All Stars before moving to Kotoko says they deserve the title.

“We look at teams that are buying big names. Teams that are engaged in good recruitment policy and I think this is what happened. While others were buying big names – and I am not in any way imputing that it is wrong – they decided to go for these young guys that can sustain the travelling, shuttling up and down and all that and I think it has paid off.” Maxwell told the media.

“Their boys are very young. They can travel for eight to nine hours and play a game the next day. The same thing cannot be said of players who may be 28 and upwards and doing the same number of hours and giving a club the output they want.”
