Interim Coach of the Black Queens Mercy Quarcoo Tagoe says she feels satisfied after wining the WAFU Zone B cup of nations in Cote D'Ivoire over the weekend.

The former Black Queens player led her side to a 1-0 victory over host Ivory Coast on Saturday. Following the success in Abidjan, Mercy Tagoe says she feels relieved especially after the heavy criticisms she suffered for dropping some players.

Tagoes added she hopes the victory will be a step to more successes for the Black Queens.

“It is a big feeling, to lead the National team to win the WAFU makes me very proud.

“As you rightly said, I was successful as a player and as a referee and now God being so good as a Coach.

“This is amazing, am not done yet, I still pray and will work very hard to achieve more, there is a long way to go.

“This should be a stepping stone for me in my Coaching career and I hope for the best.”

Ghana will host the African Women Championship in November later this year.

Meanwhile, several football pundits want the Black Queens job to be handed to Mercy Tagoe following her success in Abidjan.
