Former Ghana international, Mohammed Gargo has been lauded for his role as a trailblazer for young Ghanaian footballers based in Italy.
The current coach of Okwawu United was credited by Oliver Arthur's Arthur Legacy Sports Management Limited last Thursday at the Calcio Trade Ball in Accra.
He was praised for blazing the trail for Ghanaian footballers in the Serie A after he joined Udinese following the exploits of Ghana's Black Starlets at the 1991 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Italy.
The 41-year-old during his career as a footballer played for Italian clubs including; Torino, Udinese, Venezia and Genoa.
The player who possessed a thunderbolt shot is also the last African to captain Udinese where he wore the band with distinction for six years.
Gargo was presented with a football signed by all the 25 Ghanaian footballers in Italy.
Present at the ceremony were Black Stars players including, Afryie Acquah, Emmanuel Agyemang Badu and Kwadwo Asamoah.
