Medeama SC President, Moses Armah Parker has heaped praise on the Premier League Club Association (PLB) and Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) for their profound support in the build-up to the CAF Confederations Cup encounter against TP Mazembe.

In the build up to the game, the PLB changed the fixture schedules of the Ghana Premier League in order to garner support for the country’s sole representative in African club competition this season, coupled with the donation made by GHALCA to the team in a bid to grease their elbow ahead of the game.

And, the bankroller of the side, Moses Parker has commended the move by the two associations and says such he would be pleased if they can be granted permission to postpone their week 25 game against Bechem United to help them prepare adequately for their last outing in the group stage of the Confederations Cup against MO Bejaia in Algeria.

“The move by the PLB and GHALCA helped us a lot and I thank them for their support. This is what we’ve been looking for in a long time and this time they delivered. Playing in Africa has not been easy and so if you get such support, why won’t you perform against the best clubs on the continent. We received 5,000.00 GH from GHALCA and I must admit that it helped a lot and I’m grateful for everything they did for us prior the game.”

“And also, we thank the PLB also for shifting the premier league fixtures from Sunday to Saturday, which I think helped us in having more supporters at the stadium and it gingered the boys”.

Medeama will be travelling to Algeria in the last game of the group stage next week and if they manage get a result there they’ll automatically seal a semifinal berth in the club’s history, and this scenario the team finds themselves in have prompted calls from the football populace to postpone their next league match so that they get needed rest ahead of the MO Bejaia decider next Wednesday.

“We’ll be glad if the PLB can grant us that permission so that we can adequately prepare for final game in the group. We are pushing for it and if we get it, I think it will be fantastic because we wouldn’t want anything to be a hindrance on our way to that game,” Moses Parker told Happy FM’s Reuben Obodai.

Medeama SC needed a last minute goal from playmaker Akwesi Donsu to defeat group favourite on Sunday at the Essipong stadium to set up a decider against Algerian side MO Bejaia in Group B of the CAF Confederations Cup.
