MTN FA CUP: Asante Kotoko, Liberty through to next stage of competition

Kumasi Asante Kotoko have booked a slot in the next stage of the MTN FA Cup after edging past lower division side Storm Academy at the Nkawkaw Park on Saturday.

The Porcupine Wariors won 5-3 on penalties after it ended 1-1 in regulation time.

Storm Academy scored the first goal through Twumasi Frimpong in the 15th minute before Kotoko equalized through Bennett Ofori who headed home Kyere's fine cross into the goal area in the 57th minute.

Also, Liberty Professionals progressed to the next stage of the competition after beating Samartex 1-0 at the Samraboi Park.

It was a sweet revenge for the Dansoman based team who were knocked out of the competition last season by Samartex.

The Round of 16 action will continue tomorrow with four fixtures.
