Ghana international, Christian Atsu has indicated how he wanted a quick return to the field after undergoing a knee surgery towards the end of last season.
Atsu suffered a knee injury in the dying embers of last season and had to undergo a surgery to correct it for him to fit in time for the start of the new campaign.
The Tyne-based side's plan worked to perfection as the diminutive wideman returned on time for their pre-season training in Portugal.
The former Chelsea winger already has a goal under his belt in the team's pre-season training game and looks forward to having a brighter start to the 2018/2019 English Premiership.
