Nainggolan: Roma exit isn’t my decision

Published on: 21 June 2018

As he nears a move to Inter, Roma midfielder Radja Nainggolan has claimed on social media that he is being forced out of the club against his own wishes.

After fresh discussions on Wednesday, the 30-year-old now appears to be on the verge of a move to the Nerazzurri after the clubs agreed on a deal worth €24 million plus Davide Santon and Nicolo Zaniolo moving in the opposite direction.

An apparent Instagram message discussion between the player and AS Roma Daily has been made public, after fans of the capital club pleaded with the player not to leave the Eternal City.

“Don’t think that I’m okay about leaving,” said Nainggolan. “But sometimes you are forced to make other choices.”

In the past when he has been linked with a move away from the Stadio Olimpico, the Belgian has claimed that he is fully committed to Roma and had no intention of departing.

Nainggolan has been at the Giallorossi for four years, following his move from Cagliari in 2014 and currently has three years left to run on his deal in Rome.
