Napoli are reportedly ready to submit a final offer for Inter Milan's Mauro Icardi after already having a number of bids rejected for the striker.
According toFootball Italia, the offer could be in the region of €50m as well as Manolo Gabbiadini moving the other way in a swap deal. Gabbiadini is valued by his club at around €25m so the overall total fee of the deal could pass €75m if Inter agree to part ways with their captain.
With Argentine striker Gonzalo Higuain causing a stir by departing the Partenopei for Juventus on Wednesday, Napoli are set to swoop once more for their target in an attempt to strengthen their attacking options ahead of the new Serie A season. And they now have the money to do so as they reportedly raked in over €90m (£75.3m) from the sale of Higuain.
Inter have already rebuffed several Napoli offers for the striker and club president Erick Thohir has insisted that Icardi will be staying put. He said: "We're not going to sell Icardi. We've received offers “ from Napoli “ but we're not going to sell him.
"We extended his contract a year ago."We're like a family and we can always talk if there are problems or discuss what we'd like to achieve together in future. He's our captain and an important player for us. We're very happy with him."
But Napoli are clearly not easily deterred and will try their luck once again to make Icardi a member of the Gli Azzurri before the end of the transfer window.
Arkadiusz Milik has also recently joined Napoli from Dutch side Ajax after completing a medical on Friday.
