Navas blames bad luck for Man City defeat to Arsenal

Jesus Navas felt Manchester City were beaten by misfortune in the FA Cup semi-final on Sunday.

City squandered a one-goal lead to eventually lose 2-1 to Arsenal in extra-time at Wembley and Navas believes a host of unlucky misses was the main reason for the defeat.

"We deserved more, we created chances," he told MCFC TV.

"We had two hit the post at the end. I think we created enough chances but we couldn't in the end.

"We were unlucky today."

Asked if City should have been ahead at half-time, Navas replied: "I think the team has played well.

"We create a lot of chances but I think it is just the luck today.

"It's frustrating but we played really well in the first half, we controlled the whole game, we created enough options to score more than one goal but again we couldn't make it."

Regarding what the remainder of the season holds for City, the Spaniard added: "We need to focus now in the Premier League and think about the next game.

"We need to keep playing until the end of the season and of course our goal is to end up in the top four and try to be in the next Champions League."
