New Edubiase president Abdul Salam sends strong warning to all, threatens court action

Abdul Salam Yakubu has threatened to take legal action against anyone who says New Edubiase United played a match of convenience in their win over Techiman City on Wednesday.

The beleaguered New Edubiase United defeated mid-table side Techiman City 2-1 at the Nana Ameyaw Park yesterday, which sparked rumours that the two sides played a match of convenience to help New Edubiase United in their bid of escaping the relegation doldrums.

However, President of the club and bankroller of the club, Abdul Salam have frowned on the purported allegation by declaring that he will sue anyone who says his outfit played a soft game in their win over Techiman City FC.

Speaking to Happy FM, the outspoken Abdul Salam said, “I will take legal action against anyone who says Techiman City sold the match for us because Mickey [Charles Ntim] and Techiman City cannot help us in our relegation fight.”

“We could have won the game by more goals and even the penalty they had was dubious. How can someone think Techiman City helped us when they themselves are fighting against relegation? Look at their position on the table and do the calculations by yourself,” He quizzed.

The furious Abdul Salam added,” People have earmarked us for relegation already even when it’s not two games left. We’ll survive this scare because the boys are poised to leave a positive mark on the club, and it even showed in our game against WAFA, where hard luck robbed us of victory. They everything they could but win.”

“I told you we’re experts when it comes to these kinds of situation and I can say it again that relegation is not on in books this season. We are only thinking about our next match against Wa All stars and not what people think or wish for us.” He told Happy FM

New Edubiase United hope to replicate the performance at Techiman when they entertain table toppers Wa All stars on Sunday at the Nana Gyimfi Park, Bekwai.
