Major League soccer side New York City have announced the signing of Ghana midfielder Ebenezer Ofori on a short term loan from Bundesliga side VfB Stuttgart.

The midfielder joins the American side after struggling for minutes on the pitch in German, since the promotion of Stuttgart last season.

Ofori was exceptional after joining the German side from Swedish side IK Stokholm but struggled with form and injuries at the beginning of the season and barely made manager Hannes Wolf- who has been sacked- team's for match days.

Despite the sacking of Hannes Wolf, the Ghanaian agreed to move to the MLS to gain more play time and to preserve his position at the national team.

New York City FC announced the capture of the Ghanaian on the club's website stating,“New York City FC are delighted to announce the signing of Ebenezer Ofori from VfB Stuttgart.

“The 22-year old Ghanaian international has signed a one-year loan deal with an option for City to purchase Ofori permanently at the end of the 2018 season.”

Ebenezer Ofori is a regular at the national team since the return of Coach Kwesi Appiah. His move to the United State is to afford him more play time and to keep him in shape for the AFCON qualifiers.
