Nigel Pearson Is Being Tipped to Potentially Take Over Zola at Birmingham City

Birmingham City haven't really hit the heights that they were in previously since Gianfranco Zola took charge at the club, and now Nigel Pearson is being tipped to potentially take over from him.

The current Birmingham boss took charge at St Andrews in controversial circumstances when the board decided to suddenly sack then manager, Gary Rowett in December 2016.

The Blues were in for a real chance of getting a playoff spot come the end of the season and in good form, when the board decided to sack him and in came Zola.

Now the board are potentially looking at sacking Zola too and replacing him with Nigel Pearson, according to The Sun, after a very bad run of form since he took charge.

Being such a controversialtake over the Blues fans have never really taken to Zola, and as his team's performanceshaven'tbeen up to scratch it hasn't helped his cause.

Birmingham City currently sit 17th in the Sky Bet Championship, when they were in 8th and only one point off the play off places when they sacked Gary Rowett and bought in Zola.

Now they are potentially looking at bringing in former Leicester City and Derby manager Nigel Pearson to hopefully bring in some good fortune and turn the results around.

How well the potential appointment of Nigel Pearson would go down with the Blues fans is debatable though, as he did manage their midlands rivals Leicester City for many years.

He is also on the apparent shortlist to take over at the Foxes again at the end of this season.
