Accra Great Olympics coach Tom Strand says he feels unfairly treated by his former employers Medema Sporting Club.
Medeama are demanding GHC 35,000 from the manager as compensation for exiting the club when his contract has not ended.
The former Bechem United boss who spent two seasons with the Mauves and Yellow left in controversial circumstances. He left the club when they were engaged in a CAF Confederations Cup game in South Africa, a game they lost 3-1.
The 35 year old who is now based in the capital was speaking to Accra based radio station Happy FM when he revealed his despair about his current situation.
“I put all my efforts, power into the club and I work very hard to develop the club and players and after I leave they sell about more ten players and they want me to pay GHC 35,000 for working for them. When I have been paying for my working permit and my own plane ticket to come down .I pay the tickets for my family to come down,” he told Happy FM.
“They took my card from me, they took my phone from me and they took my passport from me and sometimes the salary don’t come on time and stuff like that and I don’t think it’s fair to treat me like that,” he added.
“I gave James Esselfie my resignation letter three times and he refused to look at it. I have seen he is the one that sign the document that says I should pay GHC 35,000 and it makes me very sad because I really trusted that guy and it’s really hurts my heart.”
The swede helped Medeama to their first ever FA cup in 2015 and has now moved on to premier league rivals Accra Great Olympics.
