Our target is to win the Champions League- Aduana Stars striker Dereck Sasraku

Aduana Stars striker Dereck Sasraku insists the club’s main priority is to win the CAF Champions League next season.

The Dormaa based club will represent Ghana in the continents top club competition after winning the Ghana Premier League.

Sasraku who was instrumental in the club’s feat last season indicated despite relishing in Premier League glory, the Champions League title is their main target.

“We are very ready for Africa,” Sasraku told Happy FM. “We were ready for Africa since last year but we failed to win the Ghana Premier League but fortunately we are champions this year and we will win the champions league to prove our critics we are worthy Champions of the Ghana Premier League,” he added.

“We didn’t really care about the Ghana Premier League triumph because we hear a lot of people saying we don’t deserve to win it but we are going to win the CAF Champions league because that is our main target.”

The striker had a good season with the Dormaa based club scoring three times and providing four assist in the process.

The strong attacker revealed it was his best season in the Ghana Premier League but he struggled against defenders Vinceb=nt Atinga of Accra Hearts of Oak and Mohammed Musah of Ebusua Dwarfs.

“Ebusua Dwarfs defender Musah Mohammed and Vincent Atinga of Accra Hearts of Oak have been the toughest defenders I have faced in the league. They are very calm and composed and have good timing of the ball making them very difficult to beat,” he said.

“This season has been a very good season for me, last season I struggled to get playing time but this year has been different, I played a lot of games and we ended up winning the Ghana Premier League.”

Dennis Sasraku has been linked with a move to Zambia after he rejected moves to Ethiopian Premier League sides Jimmar.

However, from the look of things the striker will stay at Aduana to help them make a mark in the Champions League.
