Premier League Target Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang Reiterates Desire to Play in Spain

Borussia Dortmund forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has reiterated that it's his "dream" to play in the Spanish league, amid speculation linking him with moves to a number of European giants.

Manchester United and Manchester City are each strongly interested in bringing the Gabon international to the Premier League, though Real Madrid have been credited with interest in the player too over the last few months. City were reported to be in advanced talks with the 27-year-old recently, though progress has slowed over a move since.

The two Manchester clubs have been dealt another significant blow in their pursuit of the Dortmund hitman with his latest comments, as he spoke whilevisiting the small town of El Barraco - from where his mother and her family originated.

He told theAvila newspaper:"For me it is a dream to play here in Spain, because here I have part of my family. It has been my dream since I was very little."

His comments echo a statement from the player made back in March, as he said at the time:"My childhood dream? To play at Real Madrid.

"In 2014, before he died, I promised my grandfather who was from Avila, 110 kilometers from Madrid, that I would play there.

"It will be complicated, but it sits in a corner of my head. When I was a kid, I watched Hugo Sanchez videos. The backflip I sometimes do when I score is actually an homage to him. Real Madrid, or another great Spanish club, would also be a great gift to my mother."
