Premier league team in the waiting; Tema Youth demand compensation from GFA

President of Tema Youth FC Wilfred Osei Palmer has revealed his outfit will demand compensation from the Ghana Football Association who he believes treated his club unfairly.

Tema Youth were declared winners in their case against the Ghana Football Association (GFA) by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) over their protest case against Dreams FC.

The Court of Arbitration for Sport ruled that a new Appeals Committee panel must be set up by the GFA to hear the case of Tema Youth who seek to have Dreams FC relegated to the second tier league. . Tema Youth, if given a good hearing they expect from the new Appeals Committee panel, will then get the green light to join the elite league in Ghana. However, owner of the Tema-based club, Wilfred Osei Palmer insist it won’t be proper to add his side to a league that has already entered the 18th week. Rather, he expects compensation from the GFA. “A league that has started and gotten to week 18, I don’t think it will be rational to add Tema Youth.” “We have spent money to play this year’s league so I think we have to be compensated on that.” He told Happy fm. The Ghana Football Association is yet to set up the new Appeals Committee panel to sit for the hearing of Tema Youth’s case as ordered by CAS.
