Former Ghana Premier League top scorer, Prince Tagoe has rubbished reports that he has retired from football.

The 30-year-old has been clubless after leaving Israeli side Hapoel Bnei Lod in 2014, leading to media reports that the 2004-05 Ghana Premier League golden boot winner has hang-up his boots.

However, The Prince of Goals (as Tagoe was known during his heyday) in an interview with Accra-based radio station, Happy FM rubbished those reports saying his agent was working hard to get him a new club.

He said, "I have not retired from football. I have not even considered retiring. I am not active in the game because I do not have a club. I am working hard, my agent is working hard and I will be back soon".

The Tudu Mighty Jets Academy graduate made his international debut for the Black Stars in 2006 under Serbian trainer Ratomir Dujkovic at the 2006 Africa Cup of Nations but says he is filled with nostalgia when he thinks about the team after not playing for his nation in four years (since 2012).

"Anyone who has played in the Black Stars will miss the team. I have not missed it that much but I miss the moment we had senior players in the team.

"The days of Stephen Appiah and Matthew Amoah were the days the team had everything a young player will like to be part of. They were our mentors and we learnt a lot from them.

"We were playing together, but we always be eager to learn from them. We wanted to be like them and do what they could do with the ball," he said.
