Cristiano Ronaldo has recommended his international teammate, Andre Silva, to Real Madrid and wants the club to sign the striker at the end of the season.

Reports in theSpanish presssuggest that Ronaldo's recommendation comes amid rumours that Los Blancos are prepared to part ways with current forward Karim Benzema, who is likely to be sold in the summer.

Although manager Zinedine Zidane will still have Alvaro Morata at his disposal, it's likely that the club will prioritise signing another striker to provide competition for the Spaniard, who has yet to really establish himself at the Bernabeu since he returned last summer.

Whilst Madrid are thought to have approached several top Europeanstrikers, Ronaldo has put his case forward for fellow compatriot Andre Silva, who was named in UEFA'sBreakthrough Team Of The year for 2016.

The 21-year-old is arguably in the midst of his best season to date with clubside Porto, having scored 20 times in 34 appearances and contributed seven assists.

Having only made his first-team debut for Porto last season, Silva's meteoric rise has not just been confined to club football, as he made his international debut last year and already has four goals to his names.

The striker's release clause is thought to be somewhere in the region of€60m, however considering Los Blancos' previous transfer dealings, the club would be more than willing to stump up that much money.

Whilst Silva remains relatively young, his promise and potential has caught the eye of his Portugal teammate and with Ronaldo's influence being clear to see at the Bernabeu, the club could well make a move for Silva before the beginning of the 2017/2018 season.
