Referee Deniz Aytekin Reportedly Swore at PSG Players During Dramatic Loss Against Barcelona

After the immediate astonishment of Barcelona's historic comeback against PSG last week, attention has turned towards the performance of referee Deniz Aytekin.


The official awarded the hosts two penalties at the Nou Camp, the second of which appeared to be a dive from Luis Suarez.


At the other end, Angel Di Maria was denied a penalty having been seemingly tripped by Javier Mascherano while clean through on goal.

And French newspaperLa Parisienhave now claimed that Aytekin retorted angrily to the protests of the PSG players' protests during the game.


He reportedly told those aggrieved with his decisions "f*** you" on numerous occasions during the game.


PSG President Nasser Al-Khelaifi also told Le Parisien: You cannot help but think that the result of this match could have been different with clairvoyant refereeing, and more as the competition progresses, there is a lot at stake and the referees need to know it, there is no room for nervousness or lack of lucidity.

Everyone saw the penalty to Di Maria that would have put us 3-2 up. Not to mention the penalty on Suarez.�


Meanwhile,Marcahave reported that a petition has been created aiming to force a rematch between the two sides due to the referee's performance.


Thepetitionhas so far been signed by over 40,000 people and lists a number of contentious decisions supposedly made throughout the course of the 90 minutes.
