Ghana Premier League referee Prince Amoah has been handed an indefinite suspension following his abysmal performance in the match day 26 game between Accra Hearts of Oak and Aduana Stars.
The referee was at the center of controversy when he waved on play after Aduana defender Emmanuel Akuoko has landed a heavy foot on the chest of Accra Hearts of oak captain Thomas Abbey in the box.
The decision left the Phobians with no choice than to report him to the match review panel, who have decided to hand the referee an indefinite suspension.
The decision even though not official announced will be made public in the coming days.
Administrative manager of the club Hackman Aidoo has lauded the efforts by the match review panel, despite not made public yet.
”That would be in the best interest of Ghana football because some referees are killing the game,” he told Accra-based Happy FM.
Referee Prince Amoah’s punishment follows a similar one handed to FIFA referee Joseph Lamptey after awarding a dubious penalty to South Africa in a world cup qualifier against Senegal. The game has been ordered to be replayed.
