Reus accepts need for better

Borussia Dortmund forward Marco Reus has warned his side that they have to improve next season, having only narrowly secured Champions League qualification.

BVB were beaten 3-1 at Hoffenheim on Saturday and dropped to fourth place in the final standings, having picked up just one point from their last three games.

We can't continue like this next season.

And Reus is aware that he and his team-mates need to do better next term, with another change of coach on the horizon after Peter Stoger announced that he will leave the club with immediate effect.

Germany international Reus told the official Bundesliga website: "We can only say that we were lucky when it comes to qualifying for the Champions League.

"I've already said that we - including all the staff - will leave no stone unturned and will have to prepare ourselves differently. We can't continue like this next season."

Meanwhile, Stoger himself is hoping that a fresh man in charge at Dortmund will help bring some much-needed stability to the club.

The Austrian, who only took charge of BVB in December, added: "This was my final competitive game for Dortmund. We already decided that together some time ago.

"We decided that a new stimulus is necessary and might do the club good. The easiest way to get that is with a new coach.

"I'm happy that we achieved our most important goal and I hope that my successor can bring a bit more stability and serenity to the team."

Meanwhile, Bayern Munich are 1/8 to win the DFB-Pokal final next Saturday, with Eintracht Frankfurt priced at 5/1 and 25/1 to win 2-1 in 90 minutes.
