Rev Osei Kofi urges young striker, Dauda Mohammed to leave Kotoko

Former Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Ghana legend Reverend, Osei Kofi has advised young striker, Dauda Mohammed to ditch the Porcupine Warriors for a huge payday in Europe.

Rev Osei Kofi, famous for turning down a big-money move to English side Stoke City used his current financial plight in advising Dauda to quit the club for the right offer.

Kofi disagreed with members of the Kotoko fraternity who have urged Dauda to stay insisting that it will be mutually beneficial for all parties if the player is allowed to move for big money.

The celebrated ex-Ghanaian footballer says running a football club in the Ghana Premier League which has no sponsor is fraught with financial difficulties hence it will be wise for the Kumasi based football club to cash in from their top scorer.

“This profession (football) we do it to look for money. And it’s said the person behind learns how to walk from the person ahead so if he asks that what did you do for Osei Kofi those days by opting not to leave what will they say,” Rev Osei Kofi told BOSS FM.

“They should let him go, if he leaves it will help Kotoko. Once he has heard of that foreign deal if he leaves it will be better, if he stays he will not play whole heartedly” He added.

Dauda has been linked to German clubs, Schalke 04 and Eintracht Frankfurt with his prize-tag pegged at $1 million.

Dauda Mohammed scored eight (8) goals for Kotoko in the first round of the Ghana Premier League - three adrift leading scorer Yahaya Mohammed of Auana Stars.
