German Bundesliga giants, Schalke 04 are in search for a left-back option despite Baba Rahman’s return from a long injury lay off.
The Royal Blues are currently short of options with Bastian Oczipka ruled out for the start of the season.
The former Dreams FC and Asante Kotoko defender have been on the sidelines for almost two years after picking up an injury in the Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon.
However, Baba made an appearance on the final day of the German Bundesliga for Schalke when they beat Eintracht Frankfurt- since rejoining the club in January from Chelsea.
Despite his progress in pre-season, Coach Domenico Tedesco has doubts whether Baba can withstand the double burden of Bundesliga and Champions League.
The coaching, scouting team and manager Christian Heidel have already begun the search to bring another defender on loan.
