Sevilla Interested in Signing Liverpool Midfielder Joe Allen

Spanish side Sevilla have reportedly joined the race to sign Liverpool midfielder Joe Allen this summer.

As reported byThe Express, Allen has been rumoured to be exiting Anfield for a while now with the likes of former club Swansea looking to be interested in signing the 26-year-old.Allen only has one year left on his contract and despite his popularity with Liverpool fans, it doesn't appear as if Klopp is interested in featuring him too heavily in his plans next season.

The Welshman supposedly peaked the interest of Sevilla during his cameo in the 2016 Europa League final, which saw the Spanish side overcome the Reds 3-1 in Basel.

Since then they've been watching him closely which includes his performances at Euro 2016,where he's been one of the key factors in helping Wales top their group at the tournament ahead of England.

He could potentially be seen as a vital replacement for the Europa League champions following Ever Banega's switch to Inter Milan on a free transfer.

For a while it seemed as if Swansea were in pole position to re-sign Allen for a fee of around £10 million, however the intrigue of playing abroad could prove to be an opportunity that is too good to turn down.

The midfielder has been at Liverpool for four years now after he was signed back in 2012 for around £15 million by former Swansea manager Brendan Rodgers. Following a questionable start he seems to have come into his own at the club, and his performances for Wales will reaffirm the belief that he can perform at the top level.
