Sports Minister Isaac Asiamah confident Ghana will win AJC

Minister of Youth and Sports Isaac Asiamah says he is very optimistic the Black Starlets of Ghana will win the Africa Junior Championship in Gabon.

 

The Black Starlets have been phenomenal at the under-17 Cup of Nations beating Cameroon and Gabon heavily- recording nine goals in the process before drawing goalless with Guinea in the final group game.

 

The Minister who was speaking on Accra based Radio Station Happy FM was full of hope but insisted if they didn’t win the tournament he will be disappointed.

 

“I must say I will be very disappointed if the team fails to win the trophy, I have a lot of confidence in them,” he told Happy FM.

 

“We have put in a lot to make sure these boys succeed and win the trophy and it will be very disappointing if they fail.

 

“But I have confidence in them and I am very sure the will bring the title to Ghana.”

 

Ghana are two times champion of the Africa Junior championship having wonit in 1995and 1999.

 

The team has thus made it to the world cup in India.
