Sports Minister Isaac Asiamah says the Ghana National Petroleum corporation sponsorship of the Black Stars will not be cancelled.
Last week, Minister for Parliamentary Affairs and Majority Leader Osei Kyei Mensah-Bonsu confirmed that the state-owned oil exploration firm has terminated its contract with the Ghana FA.
But Asiamah in a media interaction on Monday noted that the deal will continue but with more transparency and accountability.
''I speak as the Minister for Youth and Sports. The GNPC deal will continue, the support for the national team will continue,'' Asiamah said on Monday
''We are going to ensure that we place much emphasis on transparency and accountability this time round. We will ensure that there is proper oversight by the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
''So now the amount will be channeled through the Ministry of Youth and Sports. It is no longer going to go through the GFA.''
