Spurs keen, Man Utd cold as Real Madrid president Perez sets Bale price

Published on: 11 December 2017

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez continues to push interested clubs to pay top price for Gareth Bale.

While it has been agreed between all parties for Bale to depart Real in 2018, Perez's insistence on getting as close as possible to the €100m he paid Tottenham for the Welshman is holding up negotiations.

Both Spurs and Manchester United have asked to be kept up to speed on Bale's situation, along with Chelsea and Bayern Munich.

However, no club is interested in meeting Perez's current €90m valuation, given Bale's woeful injury record. Indeed, United have now stepped back from negotiations.

Meanwhile, Spurs are now showing the strongest interest - but intermediaries have made it clear they won't go higher than €60m for the former star.
