Stoke City midfielder Charlie Adam can see teammate Jack Butland moving to Manchester City.
Adam can't understand City's decision to exile England goalkeeper Joe Hart and buy the 33-year-old Claudio Bravo instead.
Adam told BBC Radio 5 Live: "Why don't they go and buy a younger goalkeeper… why don't they buy Jack Butland for £25m or whatever it would take.
"He's a young, promising goalkeeper who keep can play with both feet, and he's as good as Joe Hart. I know he's had an injury, but he's an exceptional goalkeeper and a young goalkeeper, so to bring in someone at 33 and give them a four-year contract, that just doesn't make sense."
