Ghana midfielder Sulley Ali Muntari made his first La Liga start for Deportivo La Coruna as they suffered a 3-0 defeat to Getafe on Wednesday evening.

Muntari was making his second appearance for the club he joined a week ago as a free agent, but could not help the relegation threatened club as heavy rains destruct play.

The 33 year old saw 63 minutes of action and was replaced by Florin Andone with the results 2-0.

Deportivo La Coruna made a bright start to the game but capitulated in the final minutes of the first half following heavy rains  at the Coliseum Alfonso Pérez.

Home side Getafe opened the scoring on 40th minute when Angel Rodriguez slotted home beautiful from close range.

Getafe extended its advantage only 4 minutes later. Jorge Molina stole the ball to Krohn-Dehli, found deep again to Amath, who this time served backwards in search of a shot, but found the left boot of Eneko Bóveda.

With eight minutes left on the clock, Jorge Molina hit the final nail in Deportivo's coffin with a fine strike.

The defeat means Clarence Seedorf is yet to find a win since he join the Spanish La Liga side in winter.

Muntari, 33, will look to continue with his return to action with more games under his belt before the end of the season.
