Sunderland boss David Moyes insists they can still stay up.
The Black Cats are rock bottom, seven points from safety.
Ahead of today's trip to Watford, Moyes said: “At this present time, it has been my hardest season. But I'm looking forward to it being one of the best times — by staying up, that would be the case.
"Is there an air of resignation about the place? I've not seen it in training or round the building.
“We've told the players how they've been in worse situations and it still turned out right."
