English Premier League side Swansea City are reported to have officially submitted £500,000 bid for Ghana defender Andy Yiadom.

Yiadom has been a target for several Premier League Clubs including Newcastle United and Aston Villa.

However reports emerging indicating Swansea City lead the pack to sign the player should Barnsely accept the offer.

The 25-year-old who has three years on his contract at Barnsley  is priced at £2 million.

The former Hayes and Yeading defender made 33 appearances for Barnsley last season, as his side finished in 14th place in the league.

The 25-year-old was capped three times by England C, but was called up by Ghana for the African Cup of Nations in January this year.

Since his international call up, Yiadom has been capped twice by the Black Stars, making his debut in a 1-0 defeat to Egypt, who ended the competition as finalists.
