The standard of the League needs to be improved- Ibrahim Sunday

Published on: 28 April 2017

Ghanaian football legend Ibrahim Sunday insists the standard of play in the local league is too ordinary and needs to be improved to bring out the best in Ghana Football.

The former African football of the year and ex Asante Kotoko player and coach bemoans the level of play these days in the local league insisting it has to get better.

“The standard of the clubs is almost the same. You can see some teams winning away games this season but I think there is more work to do to improve it. This is my believe,’’ he told Metro Tv.

The 2017 Ghana Premier League is thirteen weeks old and just had a sponsorship package on board from NASCO Electronics; a move the football association believes will help increase the standard of the game.

Ghana’s slots in continental championships was reduced from four to two due to poor performance with current Champions of the Ghana League Wa All stars and FA Cup winner Bechem United all knocked out from the Preliminary stages.
