Thomas Abbey makes quick return for Ghana ahead of Niger clash

Black Stars B midfielder Thomas Abbey will be available for Ghana ahead of the semifinal clash against Niger on Thursday, after recovering from an injury picked before the final group game against Nigeria.

The Accra Hearts of Oak midfielder could not play a part in the Black Stars B defeat to the Super Eagles of Nigeria.

However, his return will be a major boost for Coach Maxwel Konadu. The versatile midfielder has played mostly at the left back position and was key in Ghana’s 2-0 win over Guinea, where he won the Man of The Match.

Meanwhile, the Black Stars B are likely to miss Captain Isaac Twum, Kumasi Asante Kotoko defender Amos Frimpong and Gideon Waja who picked knocks in the game against Nigeria.

The Black Stars will play Niger in the second semifinals on Thursday and a win will put them in the final against either Nigeria or Benin who play in the earlier game.
