Atletico Madrid star Thomas Partey grabs first Black Stars call up

Spain-based midfielder Thomas Partey has been handed his first Ghana call-up as he is in the squad for the matches against Guinea and Mauritius, economistgh.com has reported.

According to the report the Atletico Madrid player is one of the latest Ghanaian players called up for Black Stars’ international friendly in France against Guinea and the AFCON 2017 qualifier at Mauritius in June.

Coach Avram Grant has been monitoring the versatile Atletico Madrid midfielder who has kept his place in the senior squad since, he returned on loan from Almeria. He has impressed Grant as a key midfielder in the club's solid seasonal campaign.

Partey’s impact on Atletico games reflects when he comes on as a sub and it is one significant reason, he is granted the opportunity to help change games for the Black Stars in tough encounters.

Avram Grant’s loyalty to his men is well known in football; hopefully Thomas Partey – the UEFA Champions League finalist with Atletico Madrid, will repay that faith in the Black Stars up – coming games and make sure he gets in the squad.
