Ghana midfielder Thomas Partey was instrumental in Atletico Madrid's 1-0 win over Espanyol in the Spanish La Liga on Saturday.
Partey protected the back four of Atletico when he came on in the 46th minute for Fernando Torres.
Antoine Griezmann’s second half goal proved the difference as they tightened their grip on third place.
Espanyol pressed to find an equaliser, but Atleti held on for the win to strengthen their position in third place behind leaders Real Madrid and Barcelona head of Sunday’s Clasico.
