Borussia Dortmund recorded their 5th defeat of the season at the weekend, leaving them six points behind second placed RB Leipzig.

Losing 2-1 away toHertha BSC proved costly to Dortmund'schances in gaining ground on Leipzig, a feeling which is shared by boss Thomas Tuchel.

"We had two good opportunities to go ahead and then we gave them a goal, our lack of effectiveness cost us the three points," said the Dortmund coach, via GOAL.

He also stated that: "The same performance would have been sufficient here more often than not. The result is annoying, but the performance was okay."

Andre Schurrle also spoke to the media after the game, emphasising his manager's point: "Small details decided the match today. The first was right at the start when I was through on goal and should've scored,If I had done, the match would have been different and it would have been much easier for us."

BVB had numerous opportunitiesto put the game to bed, withPierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Gonzalo Castroguilty of missingchances which came back to bite Dortmund, asMarvin Plattenhardt fired home a stunning free-kick which ultimately proved to be the decider.

However, there was a sense of achievement to take away from the game, asAubameyang equalled Lucas Barrios record for consecutive away goals, which currently sits at 12.

Tuchel will hope that his side improve on their finishing when they take Sportfreunde Lotte in the quarter-finals of the DFB Cup on Tuesday night.
