TRIBAL TRENDS - TOP 5: Liverpool name new Coutinho asking price; Aurier agrees Man Utd contract; Real Madrid star Bale available;

Published on: 16 August 2017

It's that time of week again where we look back over the past seven days and check out what articles Tribal readers have fancied the most.

Overall, we've got stories about all the major clubs including Liverpool, Manchester United and Arsenal.

The Reds have informed Barcelona of their new asking price for playmaker Philippe Coutinho.

The Sunday Express says Liverpool want an astonishing £145m for the Brazilian.

Barca have failed with bids of £72m and £90m for Coutinho, who handed in a transfer request last week.

FSG have once again reiterated Coutinho is not for sale. Expect this one to go down to the wire…

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is understandably frustrated by the whole saga.

On the weekend, he told DAZN that Barcelona would not be exempt from keeping their players now that a list of their release clauses was made public.

The German said: "It's pretty simple, until today it seemed impossible but now there is a list of players with the amount of the release clauses of those players of FC Barcelona. That of Lionel Messi amounts to €300M."

Meanwhile, Manchester United legend Gary Neville has criticised Arsenal signing Sead Kolasinac after the Gunners 4-3 defeat of Leicester on Friday.

The Sky Sports pundit was baffled by the Bosnian's positioning for Leicester's first goal, labelling him 'irresponsible'.

Neville also called Arsenal's defence 'naive' at half-time of the match.

The Sun reports that PSG right-back Serge Aurier has agreed to a five-year contract with Manchester United.

Dani Alves' arrival at Parc de Princes has meant that the Ivorian has fallen further down the pecking-order for Unai Emery.

The two clubs are yet to agree a fee, with work permit issues also holding up the transfer.

It will be interesting too see if Jose Mourinho settles for Aurier when he has aimed for more ambitious targets this summer, such as Ivan Perisic and…

Gareth Bale, who the Sun also claims could be bought by the Red Devils this month.

The report suggests that Mourinho has told United chief negotiator Ed Woodward that the Welshman is available if they put in an offer of £100m to Real Madrid.

Despite Mourinho declaring after United's loss to Real in the Super Cup that the chase for Bale was over, the Portuguese privately harbours hope that the deal can be done.
