Tuesday couldn’t have been a better way to confirm the Nerazzurri’s return to the Champions League, as Luciano Spalletti’s Inter completed a successful 2-1 comeback against Tottenham. Mauro Icardi initially scored the equaliser to cancel out Eriksen's opener before Vecino then bagged a later winner: “We got the result thanks to strong pressing at the end,” said the Coach after the game. “This win is obviously different to a normal victory, also due to the extraordinary support from our fans.
“The game this evening leaves us with a different feeling as regards what we’re capable of doing. We started with four or five new players and this helped us considerably, confirming our squad’s worth. There was a bit of confusion at certain points of the game and by improving these aspects we can do well. Icardi’s goal? It was important for us to make the breakthrough. Mauro is a good lad, a true professional who is a leader in the group and also a strong player. But he’s not the only great footballer we have, which is why we have to win games without only depending on him.”
