Under fire Liberty coach Michael Osei happy with "important " Medeama win

Coach Michael Osei has expressed delight with Liberty Professionals crucial win over Medeama SC  in their Ghana Premier League week 27 game.

Liberty defeated Medeama 2-1 at the Tarkwa T and A park in a game which they needed to win to keep their hopes of staying in the league alive.

Authur put the Scientific Soccer lads ahead in the 17th minute before Bernard Ofori's 37th minute equalizer looked to have settled the encounter in a draw.

But a 71st-minute winner from Bernard Arthur penalty strike lifted Liberty into 12th place, two points above the relegation zone with three games to end the season.

"My good friend Evans Adotey has built a very good side in Medeama but coming into the game, we knew only a win will be a better result for us hence we're determined to pick the maximum points," Osei told reporters.

"Our motivation was really high than Medeama because they came into the game on the back of a painful defeat to Kotoko in the FA Cup. Therefore, we were eager to capitalize on that but in play I think it was a very difficult match, however I'm happy we've been able to achieve what we came here to do."

"I will congratulate my players for a good job done. They were very determined and tactically disciplined."
