VIDEO: Watch Ghana stun USA with a spirited comeback

Published on: 04 October 2016

The Black maidens of Ghana came from behind to produce one of the biggest shocks of Jordan 2016 thus far by beating USA 2-1 in Amman. The richly-deserved win has left the Africans well-placed to qualify for the quarter-finals, with USA now likely to require a win against Japan - who play later this evening - in the sides' concluding Group D fixture.

The Americans had come into the game high on confidence from their thumping 6-1 win over Paraguay and that was evident from the assured way in which they eased themselves into this match. Ghana were pegged back throughout the opening exchanges and it was no surprise when, with five minutes played, BJ Snow's team took an early lead through Civana Kuhlmann.

But a second half comeback from the maidens ensured a 2-1 victory thanks to goals from Gifty Acheampong and captain Owusu-Ansah.

Below is a Highlight of the game.
